What a fabulous day we have had visiting Chester Zoo! We learnt all about lots of different animals from all over the world. We were able to observe some of the animals eating, lots of them playing and some just sitting!
Some of our favourite animals were:
Meerkats,
Black Rhinos,
Leopards,
Tamarins,
Elephants.

During our Pupil Voice project, we were lucky enough t visit "Cromwells Cafe" on Berry Lane. The staff were very helpful, allowing us to see how the cafe is set up, what is on the menu, how to prepare a table and how to take orders. They very kindly gave us all a drink and cake to try too!
The Year 2 chefs have been busy creating and watching the magic change when we have fruit, sugar and heat! The result? Tasty jam! We can't wait to try it next week at our afternoon tea!
WellDone!
Well done to all of Year 2, you put in a great effort with all your work for the Goosnargh and Longridge Show. The quality was amazing, with 2 first prizes amongst the haul!

Den Building in aid of "Save the Children"
What a fabulous time we had building our dens and most importantly raising money for "Save the Children". Thank you to everyone who brought stuff in to help make our dens. We showed great skills in working together and overcoming problems (like the den falling down, or canes snapping!). Take a look at our photos to see some of our amazing creations!

Environment Day
We have been looking around our school grounds, identifying different flowers and plants. We were surprised at the variety of plants and flowers we found and identified. We have been learning about the importance of bees to help pollinate flowers an plants. However we also learnt that bats help to pollinate too!
If you want to find out more about bats, why not click on the link below to watch a short video.
As we learn more about animals and their homes, we made our predictions about where we may find animals and what animals they might be, by sorting on a "tree diagram".

Solving the Jumping Squares Challenge
We have been being working collaboratively to find the shortest way to get around the track! Why not have a go yourself? Click on the "Jumping Squares" link below to see the track and read the rules.
We had a visit from a lady from "down under"! Mrs Walker is a principal (headteacher) at a school near Sydney in Australia. We wrote letters to her, which persuaded her to visit our class and help us find out more about Sydney and Australia. We really enjoyed learning and about and pretending to b some of the animals from Australia!
