Working Hard, Trying our Best, Having Fun

Art Curriculum Day

What an excellent, productive day we had today! We started by developing our sketching skills further, looking at the technique of inside out drawing and drawing looking only at the shell we were drawing, using our eyes to following the edges of the shape.  We used "Wolves in the Walls" by Neil Gaiman as inspiration for our day, looking at images of wolves and sketching them with no outline. Then, using our study of pictures of wolves, we created a clay plaque of a wolves head coming out of the wall. We planned our plaque first, then made it out of air dry clay. Our focus was on quality of finish and also creating texture using the tools available. We really enjoyed the day and were so pleased with the results.
